Celebrating the life of
Ronald A. Senkowski
June 01, 1940 - June 14, 2011
Savannah, GA - Ron passed on Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at his home after a protracted illness.
Ron was born on June 1, 1940 in Detroit, Michigan to Alfred and Eleanor Senkowski. Ron discovered an early talent for construction, working as a draftsman, a property manager and finally as a general contractor. He established The Ron-Sen Company as a commercial builder and developer, constructing banks, multi-plex cinemas, government office centers and big box retail centers.
He and his high school sweetheart Mary Ann married on June 30, 1962. Their first date was a Detroit Red Wing hockey game. When not following his beloved Wings or Lions, Ron could be found swinging away on the golf course or singing away in the Cathedral Choir, two of his everlasting passions. Ron was a member of the Red Cross in support of the military.
Ron became a family man with the birth of his first son, Ronald Joseph. Along with his wife, he leaves three sons and their wives: Ron and Melissa, Christopher and Maria Cristina, Brian and Jennifer. His greatest joys were his seven grandchildren: Calvin, Annelise, Tristan, Cosette, Lily Beth, Madeline and Ella. He loved them so much. Ron is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Mary Ellen and Ed Pollock.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the Cathedral of John the Baptist in Savannah with The Reverend Daniel Firmin, officiant.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. Barry Luskey and his staff, Hospice Savannah, Beth Conway, and to Ron's personal angels Marc and Carol Tate.
In lieu of flowers the family requests remembrances to Hospice Savannah, PO Box 13190, Savannah, GA 31416 or The Anderson Cancer Institute, Memorial Health Foundation, PO Box 23089, Savannah, GA 31403-3089.

Dear Mary Ann, We're sending you and your family our love and prayers. We meet you and Ron at the Hospital for treatment as our son was leaving for Basic Training in the Air Force. Ron brought us some great memories and then there are the coincidences of our common Urologist and your son. We have discussed the great spirit of encouragement that Ron shared us as he and Terry took their fluids in preparation for those MRI’s. You and Ron raised our spirit and removed them from the pain and concern we had at that time. What a great encouragement you both gave us. May God continue to Bless you,
- Terry & Andria Brooks, Richmond Hill, GA

Dear Mary Ann, We're sending our love to you from Vermont. Through the past several years Ron provided us with some pretty good memories and some pretty lousy golf. I'm glad I got to spend an hour or two with him just before we left and he left us. He was a great story-teller. It's our prayer that you get through this tough time - you've got a lot of living yet to do. We'll catch up with you soon. Again, our love to you. Ron & Hilda
